Direct Mailing CSV Formats Explained

Direct Mailing CSV Files generates ready-to-upload address lists for popular UK direct mail services. Export your company search results and send physical mail campaigns within minutes.

What's included?

When you select this add-on, your export ZIP file includes four additional CSV files, each formatted for a specific direct mail provider:

• stannp.csv - Ready for Stannp
• clicksend.csv - Ready for ClickSend
• intelliprint.csv - Ready for Intelliprint
• docmail.csv - Ready for Docmail

Each file uses the exact column headers and format required by that service, so you can upload directly without any data transformation.

CSV format details

Stannp format

10 columns: title, firstname, lastname, company, address1, address2, address3, city, postcode, country

Country uses ISO code format (e.g., "GB").

ClickSend format

7 columns: address_name, address_line_1, address_line_2, address_city, address_state, address_postal_code, address_country

Full name is combined into address_name. Country uses ISO code format.

Intelliprint format

7 columns: name, company, address_line_1, address_line_2, town, postcode, country

Country uses full name format (e.g., "United Kingdom").

Docmail format

8 columns: Addressee, Company, Address1, Address2, Address3, Town, Postcode, Country

Note the title-case column headers. Country uses full name format.

How addressees are selected

Each row is addressed to a decision maker at the company. We select the best person using this priority:

1. Current Director - The longest-serving director still in post (non-corporate preferred)
2. Current Secretary - If no directors, the company secretary
3. Other Current Officer - Any other officer currently in post
4. Fallback - "Business Owner" when no officers are on file

Getting started with each provider

Stannp

1. Create an account at stannp.com
2. Go to "Recipients" and click "Import"
3. Upload stannp.csv
4. Create your campaign and select the imported list

ClickSend

1. Create an account at clicksend.com
2. Navigate to "Post" > "Address Book"
3. Click "Import" and upload clicksend.csv
4. Create a new letter campaign using your imported contacts

Intelliprint

1. Create an account at intelliprint.co.uk
2. Start a new mailing project
3. Upload intelliprint.csv when prompted for addresses
4. Design your mailpiece and submit

Docmail

1. Create an account at docmail.co.uk
2. Create a new mailing
3. Upload docmail.csv for your address data
4. Add your document and submit

Data quality notes

Missing addresses

Some companies may have incomplete address data. These rows will have empty fields in the CSV, and most mail providers will flag them as undeliverable during upload.

Corporate officers

When a company's only officers are corporate entities (other companies), the addressee name will be the corporate officer's name rather than a person's name.

Companies with no officers

For companies with no current officers on file, the addressee defaults to "Business Owner".

Pricing

Direct Mailing CSV Files adds +8% to your base export price.

Example:

• Base export (1,000 companies): £10.00
• Direct Mailing CSV Files (+8%): £0.80
• Total: £10.80

This includes all four CSV formats in a single add-on.
